"Big Mama" is a well-bred 14-year-old Thoroughbred mare who ran on the tracks in the Northwest as a 4-year-old, winning two races at 6 and 6.5 furlongs and earning some nice money. She evidently got injured in the starting gate and was retired from the track to become a broodmare. She is a kind, straight beautiful mare who is very mannerly to handle on the ground, settled quickly when bred, and has always foaled easily. Last bred three-years ago, she produced a tall, straight, gorgeous filly ('JUSTALITTLETIMEX, AQHA X0676341, who is also for sale on this site) sired by ANYOLDTIME AQHA, a direct son of CALYX by DASH FOR CASH. Big Mama's owners are no longer going to be breeding or raising any more foals, so they are offering this quality mare for sale since she is still very healthy and of good breeding age. Kept outside in the hills with lots of feed and shelter from harsh weather in the winters, Big Mama stays in good condition and is up-to-date on her shots and worming and lives by Mt. Vernon in the John Day Valley in Oregon.
